On Saturday, the 7th of 2017, the new game, FIRST Steamworks, was released and explained in full detail to participating teams! We, along with multiple other St. Paul-based teams, attended Kickoff at Central High School. This year’s game involves gathering resources to prepare an airship for liftoff. After viewing the game’s animation and reading the rules, we split into small groups and went through a structured creative process After this we came together to combine our ideas. This involved team-wide discussion and goal-setting to decide on the direction of our robot’s design. Full steam ahead!

All four Mythical Robotics Lego League teams competed on Sunday at Capitol Hill Magnet: Buick Builders, Brick Heads, Phoenix, and the Avalon Reapers. They did a fantastic job with their robots, projects, and core values. It was also a blast to be together, along with FTC Athena who came to do a demo.

Minnetronix presented the team with a LARGE check this week, renewing their long-time support for the team. Thank you Minnetronix!

Teams Mythic (boys) and Athena (girls) competed last weekend, ending up on opposing alliances. Both teams played hard, and did great. Athena led the first rank alliance. Mythic was on the second place winning alliance. Go FTC!

The MRI event in Roseville was a perfect opportunity to introduce our new students to robotics competitions. We did great too! Our robot took 9th place and we were picked for the 4th alliance.
