FRC World Championship Recaps and MN State Championship Information

NoMythic just returned from the FRC World Championship in Houston, Texas! Even after some bumpy turbulence, we landed in Houston with tons of excitement and enough energy to charge a robot. We spent three days at the championship not only competing with our robot, but also meeting and bonding with other robotics teams from 59 countries around the world! We made friends with students from Mexico, Taiwan, Israel, Germany, and many more places.

We also got to hang out and watch younger students from FIRST Lego League showcase their work! Overall, we had an amazing time. NoMythic was given the magical opportunity to fly across the country and share our love of STEM and robotics with more than 40,000 other people, and we adored every second of it. We came home with beautiful silver medals, proudly sharing the title of division finalists with our alliance partners, 1153 Timberwolves, 2200 BCR Blackout, and 3339 BumbleB.

We are competing in the last REEFSCAPE competition, the Minnesota state championships. The tournament will be held on May 10th at Gangelhoff Center on the Concordia University campus and this is a one day event! The day begins at 8:00 AM with alliance selections beginning at 3:30 PM. The whole event ends around 6:00 PM!

Thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters who were able to make this possible. Thank you for this amazing opportunity and we look forward to seeing all of you again!

Sincerely, 2491 NoMythic

Houston – We have a Robot

We won the 10,000 Lakes Regional Tournament along with our awesome alliance captain 8570 Binary Bots, and partners 3891 Rodeo Robotics! It was a heroic climb out of the lower bracket of the double elimination tournament, which ended in our decisive victory for our second seed alliance. We also picked up the Gracious Professionalism award for our work in creating welcoming spaces in and around our team.

Next up, Houston! We will be traveling down to the George R. Brown Convention Center for the World Championship in two weeks time, and need your help to get there. Please share our campaign with family, friends, and your networks to propel us to our next competition.

Duluth 2025

NoMythic attended the Northern Lights Regional. We spent three days in the DECC arena, scouting, driving, programming and most importantly– cheering on our team. We had an amazing time at the competition and it was so inspiring to share that space with so many other incredible teams. NoMythic proudly won the Excellence in Engineering award and finished the competition in 3rd place. We’re working hard to rank even higher at our next competition, the 10,000 Lakes Regional Tournament in St. Paul!

Thank you so much for your support and we’re so happy to have you swimming along this journey with us.

January & Kick Off

Happy 2025!

January has been a very busy month for NoMythic. We started this month with the season kickoff! For those who haven’t seen the game animation and are curious, here’s the link: Reefscape FRC Game Animation. We are very excited to participate in Reefscape this year. Our team is ready to dive into building our robot and preparing for the escapades ahead.

For the first time, NoMythic invited our alumni to participate in kickoff with us! We had a fun waffle breakfast and a brainstorming session with our lovely alums after the livestream ended. We loved connecting with our past team members and building our connection with our community.

Our work for the new season has been going swimmingly. We have already finished prototyping, and we have sent our first round of parts to be manufactured! Our programming team has been making code to allow our robot to interact with different elements of Reefscape, and Operations has been continuing our work on our impact award submission, and preparing for events coming up in spring.

Keep it fin-tastic!

MinneTrials

On December 8th, NoMythic went to MinneTrials. This is a competition where our first years get the opportunity to build, program, and then drive the robot they created in the competition.

This competition was a magical experience and it truly couldn’t have been done without all the people that helped out whether it be by building the robot, programming it, fundraising for it, or just cheering us on.

During this year’s MinneTrials our robot (cleverly named Volley) performed incredibly well. Starting off in the qualifications we did very well, winning almost every match we participated in, and overall placing 2nd highest in ranking points, while Ultraviolet took first place. Then once qualifications were over we moved on into alliances, and got picked by Ultraviolet. They were really awesome, and everyone I met on their team was so nice. In the end we were the number one alliance, winning the competition. This was such a wonderful experience, as we watched our robots’ magnificent auto, cheered each other on, and overall had an amazing time.
