The Clockwork Knights (6487) and HAI-Panda (6803) joined NoMythic and the 7849ers (7849) at Great River School last night for a robotics party. There was food, games, prizes, and, of course, robots. All four teams will be supporting each other and competing at North Star later this week. Go Teams!
It’s always a treat to travel with the team to competition. Team members pull together to do the million tasks required to successfully compete – and revel in the time to just hang out together. The robot is still a work on progress – and our rank reflected that – but we made huge strides, and the team came home raring to prepare for and attend our next competition in Minneapolis in just two more weeks.
Utilizing grants from our sponsors, NoMythic recently obtained its very own CNC mill! We are enthusiastically anticipating the higher efficiency and accuracy this tool allows us. The machine has opened many opportunities for student/mentor collaboration and expanded our threshold of creativity in the future.
CAD crew has made some exceptional progress during week two, and it appears to have paid off! Early Monday morning the team submitted CAD parts for the drive train to Quality Tool for construction. That’s the earliest in the season NoMythic has ever submitted parts in the teams history! Shout out to all the committed thinkers and designers who made such an achievement possible!
